Louis

Louis is my sixth Irish Setter and what a little dream boat he is.  We were a full house at five when William joined us but then sadly we lost Rufus which left a gaping hole.

I learned soon after losing Rufus that Beatrice would be breeding the Spirit of Indian Summer L-litter and when she confirmed the parentage would be her Jill and Wanda & Mara Peppers' Mr Ice, this litter excited me so much and I knew it would be special.  So after much consideration, given the loss of Rufus and the recent addition of William, we decided that if there was a little boy available to us then we wanted him.

Louis joined us at the end of May 2024 and what a joy he is.  He has fitted in perfectly and loves nothing more than getting involved in the mischief caused by Henry and William. His defies his puppy size as he can stand up to the big boys and be quite vocal about it which is hilarious to watch.

​

When he's not up to mischief with the bigger boys he's a very calm, chilled out boy who loves to cuddle up to the other boys or jump up onto the sofa for a cuddle with us. You can stop him in his tracks with a tummy rub!

Louis also takes after his Uncle George, when he wags his tail his whole body wags with it, right up to the tip of his nose, it's absolutely adorable.

Louis is growing and developing wonderfully and we are already well into training covering general behaviour, good solid socialisation and show ring craft.  He has made his debut at some shows in the minor puppy class and more recently he moved up to the puppy class.  He has coped with the shows exceptionally well at such a young age, taking it all in his stride and earned some Very Promising 1st places and been Best Minor Puppy and Best Puppy a few times already.

I think the future is bright for Louis and I as a team, and I am enjoying watching him mature but they do grow up too fast!
