Charlie

Charlie is the second of my Irish Setters.  He came to live with us in July 2015.  I have never shown Charlie or got his breeding license so he has always been only a much loved member of our family.

Charlie is perhaps the funniest dog I know!  He really is the comedian of our pack.  He is never happier than when he's got a tennis ball and he absolutely loves his cuddly toys.  He's also a thief and will regularly steal from the washing basket, socks or undergarments, he's not choosy and he likes to bring them to us as presents or leave them scattered around the place.  It's not unusual to find our underwear out in the garden! 

Charlie was the founding member of our neighbourhood Cat Watch, a baton he has now passed on to Henry.  The cats of the neighbourhood still remain his biggest nemeses along with the big yellow post van! 

Since Rufus passed away Charlie is now head of the pack and at over 9 years he can still give the youngsters a run for their money.  He's always been very active and loves to run, free as a bird.

Losing Rufus was difficult for Charlie and I know he grieved the passing of his best friend but he's doing a great job filling his paws and looking after the others. 

Charlie does things the Charlie way and loves to cuddle up next to us on the sofa in the evenings and there he will stay snoring away, or he'll take himself off to bed...he's quite independent when he wants to be.  Charlie is one of a kind and I absolutely love him for it!
